Yona has more than 20 years of experience in financial management, having worked on health and development projects in Zambia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Haiti. He has managed annual budget portfolios of up to US$70 million including complex multi-donor and multi-location grants from a wide range of donors. In his previous nine years with Save the Children, he led the emergency finance and grants teams for the organization’s UK and US offices, serving in financial management roles in the field.

At iDE Zambia he oversees the finance and administration unit with responsibility for accounting, financial planning and management, and administrative support services. Yona is currently studying for a masters’ degree in international management from Calwest University, California. He is a certified management accountant with the Institute of Certified Management Accountants and a qualified accountant from the Copperbelt University, Zambia. He is fluent in English, Nyanja, and Bemba, and has working knowledge of Tonga, French and Swahili.
