Soma Kumari Rana is from Nepal, where she began with iDE in 2020 as a GESI specialist. She was promoted to a GESI and government linkage lead in 2022. Her key areas of expertise are gender equality and social inclusion, policy advocacy, sustainable agricultural development and agriculture-based rural livelihoods, as well as food security and nutrition. She has worked for more than 20 years as a frontline extension worker for international NGOs in Nepal. She holds a masters degree in sociology, a master of science in international organic agriculture, and a bachelors degree in agriculture.
