With more than 16 years of national and regional experience in Ethiopia, Solomon has the knowledge and understanding of programming resilience-building and livelihood diversification to successfully guide development projects to successful conclusions. A former advisor for Save the Children and program officer for CST and the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, Solomon joined iDE in 2018 to lead teams in tackling the challenges faced by pastoralists in some of Ethiopia's poorest environments. Solomon focuses on disaster risk reduction; livelihoods and food security, recovery, and enhancement; and disaster response interventions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in dry land agriculture from Mekelle University as well as a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Addis Ababa University.
