Shash is a London-based investment banker at Barclays Capital, with experience in the technology and industrial sectors. Because he was born in India, and spent summers back there visiting grandparents, he witnessed the devastating impact of poverty in his home country and across the developing world firsthand. His life experiences fueled his passion for international development and the fight against poverty. While pursuing his economics degree from Cambridge University, where he specialized in development economics, graduating with single first class honors, he volunteered with charities dedicated to combating homelessness.
His career highlights include contributing to a multibillion-dollar deal supporting the ramp-up of COVID-19 vaccine production in Europe; launching a consumer technology startup which secured angel investment; and being vice-president of his Cambridge College's student council. He also ran the Global Fintech & Blockchain Conference, one of the largest student-run conferences of its kind, and was president of the Cambridge Guild, part of the largest student network in the UK. In his free time, Shash is a keen follower of all sports, and was captain of his university college cricket team.
