Farhana has over two decades of experience in the development sector in Bangladesh. Her specialization is the promotion of gender equality and social inclusion. She has extensive experience working for people who have been socially and politically discriminated against, excluded and left behind in the development process. She has keen strength and in-depth knowledge of scaling up program delivery. Her career path has included a number of senior management roles at different international NGOs like Plan International, and Christian Aid, in positions like Deputy Chief of Party, Head of Urban Programme, Head of Programme, and Gender Programme Lead. Farhana is an accomplished leader in managing several large and complex projects. In addition to her regular assignment, she has served as a country-level safeguarding focal point and core trainer at her previous employment, where she worked to ensure protection for the people the organizations worked for. She holds a Master's degree in Human Rights from Dhaka International University. An avid animal lover, Farhana is an animal rights activist in her personal life.
