Pysal is a senior international development professional with nearly two decades of experience spanning program management, gender equality, public health, and social and behavior change. This includes more than 10 years in strategic management and technical advisory roles across Cambodia and the Mekong region. Currently serving as the WASH Program Director, she leads iDE Cambodia's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team, which includes the country office's current work in sanitation and solid waste management programming and its growing work in water and other WASH areas. She oversees the WASH team's senior managers and provides vision, leadership, technical know-how, financial control, and managerial acumen to strengthen, grow and improve iDE Cambodia's program portfolio. She also drives the iDE WASH team's business development within Cambodia and liaises with funders and core stakeholders in the WASH sector and the Cambodian government.
