André is a Senior Design Strategist with experience designing solutions to complex challenges in sectors such as WASH, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and climate resilience. He combines human-centered design with systems thinking to develop sustainable, locally grounded strategies that create a lasting impact.

André began his career in the private sector, working across Europe and Asia on projects in healthcare, consumer electronics, and energy. Over time, his focus shifted toward service and strategic design to better address systemic challenges. He holds an MA in service and strategic design from Aalto University in Finland and has also contributed to design education and research in academic settings.
At iDE Mozambique and as part of the iDE Innovation Lab global team, André leads strategy and design initiatives, guiding teams through participatory processes that bring together communities, local actors, and institutions, helping to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation. He is passionate about collaboration, learning from the field, and designing with (not just for) communities and partners. Grounded in the belief that people are part of a broader ecosystem, he works to create solutions that are systemic, inclusive, and resilient.
