Ahmed is a highly skilled finance and operations manager with more than 20 years of international experience working on large scale development projects in several countries. He began his career processing payroll for USAID in Islamabad, Pakistan, his home country. He went on to take on more senior positions for development organizations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Ghana, South Sudan, and the Congo.
Between 2008 and 2012, he worked for Global Communities in Iraq where he established, oversaw, and closed out a US$88.6 million USAID post-conflict project, achieving a 99.9 percent burn rate, stewarded the team through nine audits, and successfully acquired three cost-extensions with additional funding. Before joining iDE, Ahmed worked as associate director of finance and operations for FHI360, an American nonprofit, in the Congo on the organization's ebola program. His strengths include training and capacity building.
Ahmed’s hobbies include photography and gardening. He also enjoys cooking which helps him to relax.
